Starting an online business does not always require a big team, office or huge investment. Nitesh’s journey is an example of how learning digital marketing, creating digital products and using paid advertising can turn a small online income into a large business.
According to the interview, Nitesh has generated more than ₹3 crore in revenue since restarting his digital product business in May 2023.
From Tea Selling to Digital Products
Nitesh’s journey was not straightforward.
Before entering the digital business, he:
- Sold tea from a cart
- Sold juice
- Worked in a call centre
- Tried applying for jobs
- Started creating content online
- Experimented with affiliate marketing and digital products
At one point, he was rejected from a job because of his English communication and confidence.
Instead of stopping, he continued learning and exploring online opportunities.
How His First Online Sale Happened
During the lockdown period, Nitesh started creating content on social media.
He initially used platforms such as TikTok and Helo and built a following. After those platforms were discontinued in India, he continued with Instagram.
Later, he saw an advertisement for an English-related digital product and thought that he could create something similar.
He spent around 10–15 days working for 12–13 hours a day to create his first e-book.
He priced the product at just ₹37 because he was unsure about the correct pricing.
He posted the product link on his Instagram Story and went to sleep.
At around 2:30 AM, he woke up and saw his first online sale.
The amount was only ₹37, but for him it was a major moment because it was his first online earning.
From ₹37 to ₹14,000
After getting his first sale, Nitesh repeated the process.
Within around four months, he generated approximately ₹13,000–₹14,000 from the digital product business.
That small result gave him confidence that the business could be scaled.
He then started learning Facebook Ads to reach a larger audience.
Learning Facebook Ads
Initially, Nitesh struggled with the technical side of advertising.
He faced problems with:
- Facebook Pixel
- Purchase tracking
- Ad setup
- Conversion tracking
He also spent small amounts such as ₹100–₹200 while learning, and sometimes lost that money.
Later, his elder brother helped him understand Facebook Pixel and advertising setup.
Together, they generated approximately ₹50 lakh in revenue during 2021 and 2022, according to the interview.
Restarting Alone in 2023
In 2023, Nitesh moved to Patna and started working on digital products again.
This time, he was working independently.
He restarted the business in May 2023.
During his first year, he generated approximately ₹20 lakh in revenue.
This became an important foundation for the next stage of his online business.
₹1 Crore in 100 Days
The biggest turning point came in 2024.
Nitesh says he generated ₹1 crore in sales in 100 days.
That means the business averaged approximately ₹1 lakh in sales per day during that period.
This achievement changed his mindset because he had previously thought in terms of earning ₹20,000–₹25,000.
The result showed him that a digital product business could be scaled much further.
More Than ₹3 Crore Revenue
After the 100-day ₹1 crore milestone, the business continued generating revenue.
According to Nitesh, some months reached around ₹15–20 lakh.
From May 2023 up to the time of the interview in 2026, he says the business had generated more than ₹3 crore in total revenue.
| Period | Revenue Mentioned |
|---|---|
| First online sale | ₹37 |
| First 4 months | ₹13,000–₹14,000 |
| 2021–2022 with brother | Around ₹50 lakh |
| First year after restarting in 2023 | Around ₹20 lakh |
| 2024 milestone | ₹1 crore in 100 days |
| May 2023–2026 | ₹3 crore+ |
How Much Profit Does a Digital Product Business Make?
Nitesh explained that his digital product business operates mainly through paid advertising rather than relying on organic sales.
According to him, the profit margin is around 35–40%.
The remaining amount goes towards expenses such as:
- Advertising
- Taxes
- GST
- Other business expenses
One reason he prefers paid advertising is scalability. With organic traffic, reach depends heavily on content performance, while paid advertising allows a business to choose how much audience it wants to reach by increasing its advertising budget.

Working Alone With One Laptop
One interesting part of Nitesh’s business is its simple setup.
He operates the business alone, without a large team.
His basic requirements are:
- One laptop
- Internet connection
- Digital products
- Advertising platforms
- Online payment and sales systems
This shows how a digital product business can operate without the infrastructure normally required by a traditional business.
Why Digital Products?
Digital products can be created once and sold online multiple times.
Nitesh’s journey started with an e-book and later developed into a larger digital product business.
His approach was based on:
- Finding a topic people need
- Creating a digital product
- Setting up a payment system
- Promoting the product
- Using advertising to reach more people
- Tracking sales
- Scaling what works
The Importance of Testing
Nitesh’s first product was not expensive.
He selected ₹37 because he did not know how much he should charge.
Instead of waiting for everything to be perfect, he launched the product and tested the market.
His first sale gave him the confidence to continue learning.
This is an important part of his story: the first result was small, but it created the motivation to keep going.
Why Paid Ads Became Important
According to Nitesh, advertising gives more control over reach.
With organic content, you may create content and wait for views.
With paid advertising, you can invest money to reach a larger audience.
However, paid advertising also means spending money and managing advertising costs carefully. Nitesh’s own experience included early losses while learning Facebook Ads.
A Lesson About Self-Belief
Nitesh describes himself as an average student rather than an extraordinary academic performer.
He said that he often needed more attempts to understand something, but he was willing to practise repeatedly.
His approach was based on learning and hard work rather than believing that he had exceptional talent.
He also mentioned reading around 200–300 self-help books over time.

His first online sale was only ₹37. Later, he reached the milestone of ₹1 crore in 100 days and continued building the business.
The key message from his journey is not that everyone will make the same amount of money. Instead, it shows how learning a digital skill, launching a product, testing the market and improving over time can create an online business.
For Indian beginners interested in selling digital products online, his journey provides a real-world example of starting small and gradually scaling.
